I originally started my career in the tech industry. After 12 years in tech, I decided to pursue my undergrad and graduate degrees at San Jose State University, focusing on a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. I transitioned my career into teaching Physical Education classes at the Elementary, Junior High, and High School levels. I also coached High School cross country running teams. After a 10+ year career as a P.E. teacher, I’m ready for my next adventure! To build on my experience and passion, and empower Active Adults 50+ to strengthen & balance their bodies and minds while having fun! I am very blessed that I am able to work with some amazing people!
As an athlete, I’ve been described as the jack-of-all-trades. I love to snowboard, surf, hike, and have dabbled for a few years in various sports such as rock-climbing, roller-hockey, scuba diving, & ultimate frisbee. I’ve challenged myself by completing the Tough Mudder race in Tahoe, scuba dove inside a sunken ship on the ocean floor (at night with flashlights) when I lived in Hawaii, and have swam from Alcatraz Island in San Francisco. My current passion is triathlon, and humbly hit the podium during the 2018 season. My foundation is running and have ran several marathons and countless half-marathons. As my body is aging, I’ve had to modify my own personal fitness plan. My fitness plan includes modifications to accommodate the arthritis I was diagnosed with years ago, in both of my feet. I now run much shorter distances periodically, and have learned to modify my exercise routine and dietary needs to empower the mature physique.
